ACCEPTANCE — Making a booking implies acceptance of the following general terms and conditions.
USER — The person making the booking must be of legal age and is responsible for the accuracy of the information provided. All guests included in the booking must be properly identified (babies, children and adults). The details of all foreign guests will be sent to the SEF (Foreigners and Borders Service). Only the guests named in the booking are authorised to stay at the accommodation.
The customer must strictly adhere to the house rules.
PREPAYMENT — The booking system requires prepayment of the total booking amount. Payment must be made by credit or debit card via the platform. The booking is subject to the bank’s acceptance of the payment.
BOOKING CONFIRMATION — Once payment has been successfully processed, the customer will receive a booking confirmation by email.
CANCELLATION AND/OR REFUND POLICY — This Cancellation and/or Refund Policy applies to all bookings made on the ESCAPE TO MADEIRA platform.
Non-refundable rate:
100% refund of the total booking amount for cancellations made up to 30 days before check-in.
A 50% refund of the total booking amount for cancellations made up to 7 days before the day of arrival.
In all other cases, our cancellation policy does not provide for any form of refund.
*Bookings cannot be transferred between accommodation options.
AUTOMATIC CANCELLATION / NO-SHOW — If the person responsible for the booking does not arrive on the day of check-in between 16:00 and 19:00 and cannot be contacted, the booking will be cancelled due to a no-show. The booking fee is non-refundable.
INFORMATION —All information provided by the person responsible for the booking is stored on a secure server. We guarantee that only the bookings team will have access to this information and that they will use it solely for the purpose of processing the booking in question.
GUESTS — The person making the booking undertakes to inform ESCAPE TO MADEIRA of the number of guests and pets included in the booking, ensuring this does not exceed the maximum capacity of the accommodation in question.
Should the property be occupied by a number of guests greater than that previously declared in the Guest Details, or should the maximum occupancy of the property be exceeded — unless expressly authorised and where applicable — this may result in additional charges or the termination of the booking without any refund or compensation.
CLEANING — The accommodation is provided to the guest in a clean condition; the guest undertakes to leave the accommodation in a reasonably clean condition.
- The cleaning fee covers check-out cleaning only;
- During their stay, guests may request additional cleaning or extra bed linen and towels, at an additional cost and subject to availability. Bookings must be made at least 24 hours in advance
ACCESS PERMISSION – At check-in, the guest will be asked for permission to access the accommodation on the date scheduled for cleaning.
CHANGES — We reserve the right to change the booked accommodation to one with similar or better facilities in the event of force majeure. These changes will incur no cost to the guest.
CHECK-IN — Check-in must be carried out by the person responsible for the booking. Alternatively, it may be carried out by one of the people named on the booking, provided they are of legal age.
STANDARD CHECK-IN — between 16:00 and 19:00;
LATE CHECK-IN — after 19:00;
If the person responsible for the booking is unable to arrive before 7.00 pm, a late check-in will be arranged using the self-service check-in system (key safe). Instructions on how to use this system will be sent on the day of check-in.
CHECK-OUT
TIME: Check-out is by 10.00 am. If you wish to check out later, you must inform the host for approval. Late check-out may incur additional charges.
ACCOMMODATION CONDITION: The guest undertakes to leave the flat in the same condition as found at check-in, particularly with regard to the preservation and arrangement of the facilities, furniture and equipment.
Failure to comply with these rules may result in an additional charge.
INVOICES — If the guest requires an invoice, they must send their billing details at the time of booking to info@escape-madeira.com.
To issue an invoice, we require your tax registration number, name and full address.
RULES — Noise is prohibited between 22:00 and 08:00. Parties or events are not permitted. Smoking is not permitted.
Parties and excessive noise are strictly prohibited inside the apartment and in the communal areas. In the event of complaints from neighbours and/or notification by the police, ESCAPE TO MADEIRA may require the guest to vacate the apartment immediately without any right to a claim or compensation. Quiet hours between 10.00 pm and 8.00 am must be strictly observed.
Pets are not permitted in the accommodation without prior authorisation, which is subject to an additional charge per booking. Breach of the Pet Policy will result in an additional charge of €200.00.
You must never leave the keys inside the front door of the property. Should it be necessary to force the door open for this reason, the guest will be liable for all associated costs, including the locksmith’s fee, the cost of new locks, the cost of key copies, labour costs and any other expenses deemed necessary.
Upon check-out, you must switch off all lights and electronic appliances, including the television and air conditioning.
Upon check-out, you must ensure that all windows and doors are closed.
If a key is lost during the stay or at check-out, the guest will be charged an amount equivalent to the cost of a new lock, spare keys and labour.
The guest will be liable for any costs incurred in travelling to the property to open the door in the event of keys being lost, stolen or left inside the flat, or for any other locksmith’s fees resulting from the misuse of the flat’s keys or locks. If this occurs outside reception opening hours, an additional fee of €30 will be charged.
